Who else can see it.

The only comparison that matters for a security camera is who else can reach the footage. Every claim below names a dated source. If we have something wrong, tell us and we will correct it in public.

Everything that moves is held by somebody else. Everything you hold the keys to cannot move.

That empty corner is the entire company. It is empty because filling it requires declining the revenue that the other four corners are built on, and nobody who is already there can afford to.

Moves. Detection runs on the dock in your house. We hold no decryption keys, so we cannot produce footage under any legal process. No law enforcement portal exists. $500 hardware, optional $25 per month, local storage free forever.

Ring · Amazon

Product: Fixed cameras. The Always Home Cam indoor drone was announced in 2020 at $249.99 and, as of early 2026, has never had a general release.
Your footage: Cloud first. End to end encryption exists but ships off by default. Footage sits on Amazon servers.
Third party access: Repeated police partnerships since 2018. The Neighbors request tool was withdrawn in 2024 after backlash, an Axon request feature followed in 2025, and a planned Flock partnership was cancelled in February 2026 after a public reaction.

Nest · Google

Your footage: All processing in Google cloud. No local processing option and no end to end encryption option.
Third party access: No dedicated police portal, but footage is held by Google and is reachable by legal process served on Google rather than on you.

Flock Safety

Product: Municipal camera networks and drone as first responder. Not a consumer product.
Your footage: Held by Flock and searchable by partner agencies.
Third party access: Sells to roughly 4,800 law enforcement agencies. Reporting in 2025 found police ran approximately 4,000 immigration related searches through the network despite a written policy prohibiting that use. 214 cities and counties have ended contracts since 2021, 90 in the month to August 2026.

Your footage: Local storage on microSD or NVR, end to end encryption, no forced subscription. The right values.
